This Laurel duplex is prized for its upper flat owner's unit. Elevated from the street, pass through the handsome front door and enter into an elegant living room with a fireplace, coved ceilings, and soothing natural light. There are two steps down to a formal dining room providing a nice distinction between the two intersecting open rooms. The kitchen is large and there are 3 bedrooms, 1 updated bathroom, and a deck that provides a place to hang out and enjoy slices of the Bay and front row seats to beautiful sunsets. The owners recall a favorite memory of yoga at dusk on the deck. The deck leads to the spacious backyard that is for the owner's enjoyment exclusively. The owner's unit also enjoys a detached garage for storage, off-street parking for 3 cars and a detached office located in the backyard.* The owners rented the property for years and when they had the chance to purchase this home they jumped at the opportunity. They have many fond memories of gatherings and barbecues in the backyard, and will always cherish the time spent in this home.

Redwood Heights takes its name from a former logging road that winds into the Oakland Hills. Homes range in style and include Tudor, Craftsman, and French Normandy, with some homes built in the 1920s. The Redwood Heights Neighborhood Association is dedicated to preserving a sense of community through events such as block parties and barbecues.
The Redwood Heights Recreation Center is used by locals of all ages for weekend gatherings and classes including dance, cooking, and karate. Peralta Creek's 9 acres of creekside have been designated as wildlife corridor. A neighborhood nonprofit Native Environment Watershed Transformation (NEWT) orchestrated the Peralta Creek restoration and leads creek field trips for local school groups. Redwood Regional Park offers nearly 40 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails through 1,380 acres of redwood, evergreen, and chaparral forests and open space.
